The book, "INDIANS ALONG THE MAUMEE RIVER" includes the location of Archaic Mounds, Archaic Fortress Sites and Temple Mounds. Location of known Indian Villages, and the white man encroachment into the territory is noted on thirty-two maps. Noted on maps is the movement of varied Indian Tribes at the defeat of Colonel Crawford, and the defeat of the American General Harmer at the headwaters of the Maumee River. Two years later, American General St. Clair was defeated by the Indians. Indian victories were reversed at the "Battle of Fallen Timbers" on the north shore of the Maumee River in 1794. This book contains the forgotton eastern history of the American Indians.
